11 Night Retreat in the Colombian Amazon

A JOURNEY TO THE BIRTHPLACE OF THE SACRED REMEDY OF AYAHUASCA (YAGÉ)

On the evening of 21st of June, we'll be meeting in Bogota Airport, Colmbia to travel to Mocoa, a town in the Amazon rainforest, in the Southern Colombian region of Putumayo. This is the place of origin of the indigenous elders and the sacred remedy of Yagé (ayahuasca). We will spend 11 nights in the homeland of this magical gift offered by nature. Yagé is said to heal our soul, our body and our mind with the potential to heal and transform humanity.

During this time, we will have the chance to get fully involved in the process of the preparation and cooking of the brew, whilst we drink it along the way. Five days of constant, hard and tenuous work looking after the sacred remedy with the intention of healing, love and respect of the principles that have kept this science alive for thousands of years. We will offer the greatest commitment and responsibility to the teachings and wisdom of the plants.

This trip is not an ordinary trip, it is an opportunity to learn the deep wisdom of the plants and to have a life transforming journey inward, as you go deeper inside, reconnecting to the real you and connecting to the source of the medicine. 

The person who arrives will not be the same person who leaves.

We'll be guided along the way by Colombian Taitas (shamans) with over 30 years of combined experience. Taita Mares and Taita Jamir will direct the preparation of the brew and lead 6 ceremonies taking place over the 11 nights under the stars. Taking the sacred remedy in its birth place has the potential to connect us deeply to the roots of who we are.

It is essential to understand that the ceremonies are offered in a traditional manner, where all diseases and illnesses are  physical crystallisations occuring within the energetic and spiritual realms. For this purpose, we'll also be joined Jenny, a Colombian spirtual healer, who will be offering individual healing sessions. The "curaciones" are spiritual and medical procedures performed during the ceremony on the energical and spiritual bodies liberating us from dense energies, past life contracts, karmic repetitions and from all accumulations that do not serve us on our path of liberation.

Our expert team of integrators will be available throughout your stay to provide loving support and respectful accompaniment for the things that are moving inside of you, emotionally and spiritually. We will be opening space for regular sharing sessions throughout the trip. Any support you need before you arrive and after you return home will be included.

We will be accommodated in a traditional finca on the outskirts of Mocoa, sleeping in shared rooms in wood cabins, 10 minutes away from a beautiful waterfall where we're able to swim and relax during the days. Three meals a day of typical Colombian food will be provided. Please note that this is a trip to the jungle - it is not a luxurious retreat stay! There are no hot showers, swimming pool or spas - and plenty of insects!

Your stay will include excursions and activities to connect you to the four elements; Earth, Air, Water and Fire. 

The first trip to El Fin del Mundo (the end of the world) Waterfall connects you to the Air; a 90 minute walk into the jungle to reach a huge waterfall that crashes down over 70 meters on to the rocks below. There is the possibility to abseil down this drop (note that an extra charge applies for this). 

The second excursion will connect us to the most essential element of life, Water, with a visit to a nearby waterfall cascade, the Hornoyaco. This is a beautiful spot to swim, picnic, and enjoy the jungle. 

The preparation of the brew connects us with Fire, the element that allows us to burn the old, leaving space for the new to grow.

The journey into the rainforest connects us again with Mother Earth, and the lungs of the planet. The jungle has a very special way of opening people, bringing us back to our wild, primal, roots and a more natural, simple way of being, connecting us with life, nature, others and ourselves in a truly authentic manner. It is an opportunity to expand our horizons, to see life in a joyful and peaceful way, transforming our relationship to ourselves and to the world around us.

The total cost for the trip is £1,650. Spaces are limited to 16 people. A deposit of £500 is required to save your space, and the balance is payable three weeks before departure - by the 1st June.

Please note that all times above are approximate - things work a bit differently in Colombia! It's highly recommended to leave a gap of at least a few hours before arranging flights on the 4th.
