About the Retreat
THREE-NIGHT RETREAT WITH AYAHUASCA, KAMBO AND BUFO ALVARIUS NEAR DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA FOLLOWED BY SAFARI AND WALKING WATERFALL TOUR OF MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK
In September we'll be returning to our home near Dar es Salaam, in Tanzania. This retreat is set in a stunning luxury villa overlooking the Indian Ocean, the perfect setting to go inwards and remember who we are and what we carry inside. At the end of the retreat, we'll have the opportunity to connect with the natural world in all its wonder as we travel to Mikumi National Park, where we'll spend three nights in a lodge in the park, surrounded by giraffe, wildebeest, buffalo, lions, hippos, and much more. These days will be spent on Safari, exploring local waterfalls, and visiting a village of the Maasai - indigenous semi-nomadic people of Tanzania.
What are our retreats?
Our retreats include a combination of ancestral plant medicines and conscious integration in order to open a space for each person who attends to return to their heart and remember the divinity within. We support each individual to enter into a space of expanded consciousness, going outside of the programming that they live in on a day-to-day basis and being able to step outside of it, to let it go and dare to open to something new.
We don't preach any dogma or ideology or require that anyone believes in anything new. Instead, we encourage participants to examine their own existing beliefs, so that they can decide whether they are still true, and continue to serve a purpose in life. We open a space to make the unconscious conscious, so participants can see the ideas and structures that have been governing life - without them realising it.
We’ll be sharing ayahuasca every night of this three-night retreat, with conscious integration sessions each morning to open a space to go deeper into the previous night's experience, to move towards a point of comprehension of the things that have moved. Optional sessions of kambo and bufo will be available throughout the retreat for those who feel drawn to these medicines, and to aid the physical cleansing process. Note that an extra cost applies for these sessions.
We work in a non-traditional way, utilising elements from many different traditions but not following strict dogma or way of doing things. Rather, we create the environment to allow life to bring whatever is needed in each moment, allowing it to surprise us. The retreats are a journey into the unknown - where everyone who attends (including the team!) dare to enter into the mystery, to go beyond themselves, and to encounter something new.
The vast majority of people who attend our retreats go on to make significant positive changes in life in the months and years afterwards, with many letting go of addictions, unfulfilling relationships, careers which no longer serve, and often recovering from mental health conditions and the impact of trauma. Participants begin to see life in a new way, reconnecting with trust, and realising that life is bringing us what we need in each moment to blossom, flourish and thrive. We support each individual to live from their potential, manifesting the innate gifts that they have been born with, living from the heart and beginning to create what they were destined for.
What are the facilities for the retreat?
We'll be offering transfers from Dar es Salaam in the afternoon of Thursday 26th September, where we'll be taken to the venue. We'll be staying in two luxury houses, situated next door to each other, directly on the white, sandy beach on the Indian Ocean, around 1.5 hours drive from Dar es Salaam. Rooms are shared between two people, and each room has its own en-suite bathroom, and is cleaned daily by the housekeeping team. Our resident chef will be preparing delicious vegan and vegetarian cuisine throughout the days that we're together. There are plenty of places to relax and unwind during the days, or to explore and swim in the beach on the doorstep.
Temperatures are around 30 degrees throughout the day and night in this area.
What happens after the retreat?
On the Sunday afternoon after the retreat, transport will be provided to the Tan Swiss Lodge in Mikumi National Park where we'll be staying for three nights.
The next morning after breakfast we'll be picked up and taken for a day's safari in the incredible park. There'll be the chance to see lions, elephants, zebra, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, hippos, hyenas, gazelle, baboons and many other animals in their natural habitat in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The trip begins early in the morning to see as many animals as possible, and lunch is included in the park.
In the evening, we'll have the opportunity to visit a local Maasai camp and get to know the way of life of these nomadic people. The men will show visitors their dancing, share their culture, and will be available to answer any questions you might have.
The following day will be spent hiking through the park, visiting local waterfalls and caves. The total hike is around 4/5 hours and there's chance to swim in the waterfalls during the trip.
We'll enjoy a final dinner together in the lodge, before we return to Dar es Salaam on Wednesday 2nd October.
